your cheese master

Born in the French Alps, in Annecy, county of Haute-Savoie, it is little wonder that Monsieur Laurent Bonjour developed his expertise utilizing his birthright for the love of good food, wine and cheese.
Haute-Savoie, home of the “Mont-Blanc” (15800 feet) is famous for their variety of over thirty different cheeses; including 9 types certified A.O.C or P.D.O (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée or Protected Denomination of Origin), their wine “Apremont” made with Jaquère grapes which grows only in this area, and for hosting some of the best restaurants in the world (Père Bise, La Maison de Marc Veyrat, la Ferme de Mon Père, just to name a few).
He began his career by working with some of the best chefs in the region and eventually ventured into his own catering business for ten years.
In Spring of 1992, he immigrated to the United States and settled in Southern California. He continued his catering services in the Los Angeles area for another seven years and only after a divorce changed his venue and began working in the area's gourmet cheese and wine stores, sharing his expertise.
Each time he introduced a selection of new cheeses, the high demand and customer's love of the cheese, made it a regularly stocked item. It was this type of success that made Laurent Bonjour, also known as the "French Cowboy" or "The Cheese Master" happiest, and it is the reason why he decided to share his love of good food, combined with the right wine and cheese, with more than just the limited gourmet customers of the stores. "Cheese Corner" is his quest to reach lovers of the epicurean world - the world of cheeses, its tastes, flavors and health benefits. His passion, competence, customer service and expertise are his core qualities. What will have you coming back are his stories and legends about the cheese you're enjoying, and the expert advice to ensure that cheese is at it's peak, how to eat it at its best and is paired well with your meal and wines.
"Every man has two countries, his own and France."
Thomas Jefferson
